Description
Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a lipid messenger that has been shown to increase muscle protein synthesis via signalling stimulation of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). It is a novel nutrient compound that has been suggested to play an important role in muscle growth, consumption of PA amplifies the signalling response to nutrition and exercise and restore muscle anabolic sensitivity in older adults, all of which will push the muscle into increasing protein synthesis so outweighing catabolism.
